Businessman contests elections as assemblyman for Old Tafo Ahenbronum

Kumasi, Aug 13, GNA - Mr Francis Ampadu, a 48-year-old businessman is seeking re-election as assemblyman for Old-Tafo Ahenbronum electoral area in Kumasi in the forthcoming district assembly elections. He disclosed this at a meeting with the Abono Landlords Association at Tafo to introduce himself officially to the electorate. Mr Ampadu said his four-year term had seen improvement in the provision of infrastructure facilities for the people and attributed the success to the support of the people in the area.

He mentioned some of the projects completed as construction of access roads, toilet facilities, classroom blocks and provision of low-tension poles for electricity.

Mr Ampadu commended the immense contributions of Dr Anthony Akoto Osei, Member of Parliament (MP) for Old Tafo and Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Planning for his efforts towards the provision of development projects to enhance the living conditions of the people. He said he would not give vain promises and that he would mobilise the people to initiate more development programmes to improve their living conditions.

He lauded the Abono Landlords Association for coming together and hoped that the members would deliberate on issues relating to their socio-economic improvement.

Mr Stephen Oppong, Secretary of the association also commended Mr Ampadu for his good works and appealed to the people to give him the nod for the second term.
