The Convention People’s Party (CPP) on Friday 14th October buried one of its own in Diare in the Northern Region.
Duloglana Ebenezer Adam, a chief of Diare was at one point the Propaganda Secretary for the CPP in the Northern and Upper Region, the Member of Parliament for Gulkpeg-Nanton constituency in the First Republic and the first Northern Regional Commissioner in 1964, a post he held till 1966.
In a tribute to the Duloglana at the Bethel Methodist Cathedral Tamale, Honourable Samia Yaba Nkrumah MP, the Chairperson and Leader of the CPP expressed appreciation for his life and his immense contribution to Ghana’s history, adding that his exemplary life was an inspiration to all those whose lives were touched by his.
The CPP leader added that Hon. Adam stood shoulder to shoulder with Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah as they bravely faced the many unknowns and risks to lay the foundations to the modern state of Ghana.
For instance, she recalled how Hon. Adam together with Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and the other members of the Committee for Youth Organisation broke away from the UGCC to form the CPP. Later on, he personally spearheaded the formation of the branches of the CPP in the Northern part of Ghana.
His great dedication and sacrifice were instrumental in laying the foundations for the CPP’s policy of achieving a fair distribution of opportunity for all Ghanaians beginning with those in the North of Ghana. Honourable Adam helped to create these possibilities by bringing the CPP’s policy of free and compulsory education to the North.
After the funeral, the Leader and CPP entourage paid courtesy calls on a number of dignitaries in the city including Naa Dawuni Chief of Tamale, the Warbogu-Lana Lawyer Ibrahim Mahama, Alhaji Suleimana Chief Imam of Kukuo and Alhaji Boro Boro Gari among others.
The delegation was warmly received wherever they went and on a number of occasions mobbed by well-wishers.
The CPP leader was joined by the First Vice National Chairperson Madam Susan Adu-Amankwah, the third Vice Chairman Mr Oteng-Anane, the Women’s Organizer Madam Mary Ankomah Boakye-Boateng, the National Organizer Abu Forgor, the CPP Northern Regional Executives, and a number of party stalwarts and constituency executives from the metropolis.
The new leadership remains determined to rebuild the Party as a fitting monument to the memory of forebearers like Honourable Adam, on whose works and sacrifice the Party continues to renew itself.
