Mr. Ivor Greenstreet is not likely to yield to the People’s National Convention merger talks with Convention People’s Party (CPP), Pollster Ben Ephson has predicted.
He believes it will be difficult for the CPP’s Flagbearer to forego his bid to make an indelible mark, especially in the 2016 Presidential polls by agreeing to any move to merge his party with Mahama’s PNC.
Dr Mahama has said he remains open to an alliance between his party- PNC and the CPP ahead of the crucial 2016 Presidential elections.
Mr. Edward Mahama on the heels of the ongoing negotiations for an Nkrumahist Alliance has proposed that Mr. Greenstreet becomes the running mate for the United PNC/CPP front while the CPP’s logo and name be considered for the collaboration ahead of the November polls.
But, Pollster Ephson said the 2016 elections is mainly an opportunity for hope for the disabled community with the candidature of Mr. Greenstreet contesting on the ticket of the CPP, hence the group will want to by all means make a “political statement” to register their influence.
“I suspect Greenstreet will want to make a mark in the 2016 elections; It will be difficult for him to agree to the terms of such collaboration,” he told host Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM Wednesday.
