CPP Youth Urge The Party To Re-connect With The Youth

Mon, 26 Feb 2007 Source: --

“We know that the youth played a big role in the fight for Ghana’s independence, and we also know that the CPP did a lot to accelerate the countries education, health, development and generally on many fronts, but it is now time for the Party to re-connect with the youth in a serious way to take the country forward in unity and with hope” These were the words of Kwame a member of CPP Youth at the Monthly Forum organised by the United Kingdom & Ireland Branch of the Convention People’s Party (CPP). He warned that if the local UK Leadership or the National Leadership of the CPP fail to fully woe the youth, then the Party will not progress to government.

Kwabena said – “…Ghanaian Youth are very frustrated and all they want to do is to leave the country, the NDC failed them and now the NPP has failed them , they are looking to the CPP to offer a future….”

Another said “ all that I see on the faces of the youth is hopelessness and helplessness, something must be done..” Alhaji Abbas Mensah – a veteran CPP organiser said “ even the NPP youth are fed up with their own party because the NPP has done nothing for them, they are ready to back the CPP…”.

The CPP Monthly Forum was held at the International Students Centre, Great Portland Street, London., United Kingdom.

Other topics that concerned the youth were “ why Ghana’s International Airport bears Kotoka’s Name” and “ when will Kwame Nkrumah’s birthday be celebrated as a “ National Holiday in Ghana”

“The CPP Development Fund” was lunched at the Forum.

The Party holds a monthly forum every third Sunday of every month.

Forward Ever! Backward Never!
