Presidential hopeful and former Member of Parliament (MP), for La Dadekotopon constituency, Nii Amasah Namoale has cautioned persons he refers to as cabals within the National Democratic Congress (NDC), to desist from imposing candidates on them. Speaking to Kwame Tutu on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, the former legislator opined that, the party have structures and these structures must be allowed to work.
According to him, the party does not practice a monarchical system of leadership nor a chieftaincy system, where candidates would be imposed on party members. In his view, the party members must ensure that the wrongs are corrected so the system of accountability, and transparency preached by the founder of the party, former Jerry John Rawlings, is re-enforced.
He was speaking in reaction to the posters of Alban Bagbin which have popped up with the inscription ‘Alban Bagbin for 2020’.
When asked if he was scared of the names popping up,he said,it's rather good and healthy for the party. Bagbin had expressed his interest in running for the presidency and so it is good that he has come out to indicate his intention.
