Twifo Praso (C/R), Jan. 23, GNA – Mr Ato Amoah, Central Regional Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), defeated Mrs Elizabeth Amoah Tetteh, the Member of Parliament for Twifo-Atti-Mokwa and Deputy Minister for Education, by two votes in a hotly contested primary at Twifo Praso.
Mr Amoah polled 154 votes as against 152 by Mrs Tetteh whilst the third contestant, Mr David Vodee had four votes in the primaries supervised by the District Electoral Officer.
Mr Amoah congratulated the MP for putting up a good fight which had revived the waning spirit of the NDC in the constituency. He also congratulated her on the good work she had done in the area and assured her of his commitment to continue with the projects she had initiated when elected as MP.
Mrs Tetteh and Mr Vodee pledged their support to the Youth Organiser and promised to campaign for him to win the seat.
Mr Francis Kojo Arthur, the Member of Parliament for Gomoa West, defeated his challenger, Mr Ransford Agyei-Boamah by 405 votes to 53. Mr Arthur thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in him and called for support in the campaign in the run-up to the December elections to enable him to retain the seat for the NDC.
