Agona Swedru, Dec. 21, GNA - Mr Emmanuel Andani, National Coordinator of Friends of Nana Akufo-Addo, has called on supporters of the party in the Central Region especially the youth to come out and vote massively for the New patriotic Party (NPP) on December 28, 2008 presidential run-off

He has, therefore, appealed to the party's foot soldiers to intensify their house-to-house campaigns to enable Nana Akufo-Addo to win the election.

Mr Andani made the call when he presented 60 bicycles, wheel barrows, shovels, pick-axes and other items to the Agona East and West and Gomoa West Constituencies of the Central Region on Friday at Agona Swedru.

He said the bic ycle especially was to enable the foot soldiers to reach out to more members and non-supporters of the party in the hinterlands to vote for NPP.

Mr Andani said plans were far advanced to send more bicycles and other logistics to other constituencies in the region to assist them to explain the good message of the party to the people.

He noted that there was the need to form a strong base in the Central Region in order to maintain the support of the party adding that Nana Akufo-Addo was happy with the voting pattern on December 7, 2008. Mr Andani said the results, which came in the first round of the presidential and parliamentary polls should not discouraged them from working hard to defeat the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the up coming run-off.

He expressed the hope that Nana Akufo-Addo would do everything possible to rebuild the party and create jobs and wealth for the people in the Central Region. Mr Andani said President John .A. Kufuor's administration concentrated on building the general economy with little attention paid to the party's foot soldiers but Nana Akufo-Addo would improve things better for them if given the nod.

Alhaji Iddrisu Sunday, National Coordinator of the Friends of Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo said NPP was poised to win the run-off and urged the party agents to be vigilant to avoid fraud.

He commended party agents, who worked on December 7, for their hard work and dedication, but cautioned them not to be complacent to ensure total victory of NPP on December 28. Alhji Sunday said their sacrifices made for the past years would not be in vain and assured them that Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP would reward them after the party had won the presidency. 21 Dec. 08
