Nyinahin (Ash), Sept 08, GNA - The chiefs and people of the newly inaugurated Atwima-Mponua District have said the only way to show appreciation to President John Agyekum Kufuor for giving them a district will be to vote massively for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in December. They said within its short stay in power, the NPP government had provided them with electricity, pipe-borne water, many boreholes and capped it with the creation of the district.

The chiefs and people of Atwima-Mponua made this promise when Mr Isaac Asiamah, the parliamentary candidate-elect held his maiden forum with them at Nyinahin.

Addressing the forum, Mr Asiamah expressed his appreciation to the people for electing him to contest the parliamentary seat in the December polls and said he would work hard if elected to parliament. He said the government would continue to improve upon the living conditions of Ghanaians and that development would be extended to every part of the country.

Mr Rockson Adjei, the constituency secretary of the NPP, advised the youth to desist from illegal chainsaw activities and said such activities tarnish the image of the party and government.
