Nkoranza, (B/A) Feb. 02, GNA - Mr. Hayford Kyere, Nkoranza District Deputy Coordinating Director has appealed to public and civil servants not to meddle their work with politics.

He said they should remain neutral to party politics and play their respective roles and responsibilities to promote productivity and enhance the country's development.

Mr. Kyere made the appeal when addressing members of the Nkoranza District Civil Servants Association at their District Conference at Nkoranza.

Three executive members for the association were elected. Mr Kyere deplored the negative practices and attitudes of some workers who discussed political issues at work places to the detriment of their various responsibilities and performance. He described such practices as wrong, and workers with such intentions sabotage the country's development efforts. According to Mr Kyere, it was the responsibility of every worker to ensure that Government policies and programmes were implemented for improvement in the living standards of the people and to promote growth within the communities.

He therefore; stressed the need for workers to render active support to the Government and intensify their efforts to increase productivity to ensure improvement in all sectors of the economy. The Deputy Coordinating Director said Government appreciated efforts of workers towards socio-economic development and therefore; pleaded with workers to eschew negative practices such as lateness; absenteeism, laziness and apathy to work that had adverse effect on development.

Mr. Kyere Boateng, Secretary of the association on behalf of the elected executive members expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in them.

He gave the assurance that they would render selfless services to move the association forward.
