Wa, July 5, GNA - The Tizza/Nimbare community in the Jirapa/Lambussie District of the Upper West Region have expressed their gratitude to President John Agyekum Kufuor for nominating Mr Justin Bayela Dakurah as the District Chief Executive.
In a statement signed by Mr. Cletus Seidu Dapilah, a spokesman for the community, they also congratulated Mr. Dalcurah on his nomination and subsequent endorsement by the members of the district assembly. They expressed the hope that his rich experience in leadership position and as administrator would be brought to bear on his new office and pledged their unflinching support during his tenure.
They prayed for God's guidance for the President and his able team of officials to enable the government and Mr Dakurah in particular, to offer better education, good health and above all implement policies to realize the objective of positive change chapter two in the district.
Mr. Amewu told the chiefs and people of the two traditional areas that water, sanitation and especially dilapidated school structures have
been identified in the district, saying, plans were afoot to improve on these facilities.
He said even though government, development partners and other interventions like the HIPC, EU have tried to improve on these facilities there was still more to be done, and called for collaboration between district assemblies and traditional areas for growth and development. Mr. Amewu said the Hohoe market and others would be fenced and revenue collection privatised in order to improve on revenue generation and pluck the loopholes. July 05 05
