The Chiefs and Queenmothers of Builsa South have admonished the Electoral Commission (EC) to organise free, fair, transparent, and credible elections.
Speaking on behalf of the Chiefs and Queenmothers in Fumbisi, the Doninga Chief, Nab Atabnueong Adiila Akanbeanab Akanbong, underscored the need for the EC to ensure it conducts the processes leading to the elections in a credible manner to avoid disagreements.
He said the EC must discharge its duties in a way that engenders trust.
The traditional leader first advised the various political parties and their leaders to conduct their campaigns with civility and avoid acts of violence.
“We wish to avail ourselves of this opportunity to advise all politicians seeking the mandate of the good people of Ghana to conduct their campaigns with civility and decorum. They must at all times safeguard the security and sanctity of our country by avoiding acts that would endanger the peace and tranquillity we currently enjoy.
Similarly, we call upon the EC to discharge its functions in ways that engender trust and broad acceptance by committing to be an honest arbiter.”
