Confusion rocks NPP polling station elections at Mfantseman; MP fingered

Tension is brewing in the Mfantseman Constituency of the Central region as Member of Parliament(MP) for the area Mr. Ekow Kwansah Hayford has been accused of halting the process for his parochial interest.

The MP was reported to have hijacked polling stations executive forms to prevent other contenders from getting access to the forms in order to be part of the exercise.

Some disappointed candidates who complained bitterly to mynewsgh.com reporter at Kormate, said the MP had connived with the constituency Chairman and some executives of the party to hijack the forms to stop some persons from contesting the elections because they are perceived not to be favorites of the MP.

It is alleged that Mr. Kwansah Hayford bought 90% of the forms in credit in the sum of ¢8,500 to prevent anyone who has intentions to contest him the next parliamentary primaries from doing so.

The irate party members called on the leaders of the party both regional and national to as a matter of urgency address the problem facing Mfantseman constituency to ensure peaceful elections.

The disappointed candidates who were prevented from picking forms fought with some of their opponents at the full glare of others.

When mynewsgh.com called the MP, Mr. Kwansah Hayford for his side of the story, he denied the claims stating that he bought the forms for all the polling stations executives who fought for the party to win the seat in the area and presidential as well.

He again stated that he has no role in the party’s mandate of hijacking polling stations executives’ forms. . “I am only an MP and not Electoral area coordinator”, He stated.
