Constitution should rekindle spirit of Ghanaians

The Constitution should rekindle the spirit and patriotism of Ghanaians to help them uphold and defend the good name of the country, even at the peril of their lives.

Mr. Stephen K. Tornyewonya Mac, Managing Proprietor of Mac-Tetteh Preparatory School, made the observation when he addressed a section of senior high school students at Dzodze in the Volta Region at a “Mac-Tetteh” quize competition dubbed: “Encouraging the Youth to learn the Constitution through quiz”.

The programme organized by Mac-Tetteh Preparatory School, was part of the school’s strategic plan to encourage the youth in and outside the school to learn the Constitution.

The Managing Proprietor cautioned students to always stand for honesty, while doing away with morally apprehensible behaviour, and resisting corruption which was a canker eating into the fabric of society.

According to him, the 1992 Constitution, which is the blue print for governing Ghana, needs to be at the finger-tips of the youth, to enable them to become more aware of their civil rights and be assertive.

He told students of the participating schools to use the knowledge acquired through education to impact positively on their communities, and endeavor to cultivate the habit of learning the Constitution.

Mr. Mac advised the students to avoid pilfering, and take their studies seriously to enable them to obtain good results.
