Accra, March 19, GNA- The Electoral Commission (EC) on Friday said that it is unlawful for any Party Agent or any other persons to copy the identification numbers of registered voters.
"Physically preventing applicants from being registered and seizing or tampering with registration materials are equally unlawful", Dr Kwadwo Afari-Gyan stated.
Dr Afari-Gyan was reacting to complaints from the public against some political party agents copying registration numbers of registered voters at the centres.
The EC Chairman declared that the practice is against the electoral regulations and had the potential of degenerating into confusion. He said it was also criminal for any other person apart from the registration officers, to tamper with electoral materials and urged all to desist from that practice.
