The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has served notice despite the crisis the party is going through the intended notice of poll for its primaries will still go ahead.

According to the director of communications of the NPP, Nana Akomea, every process regarding the parliamentary primary “is still on.”

Speaking to Accra-based Citi FM, Tuesday, Akomea said: “The notice of poll will be published on Wednesday.

“There have been no suspensions of it. All those have been laid down by the steering committee. There won’t be any problem. If there is any difficulty I’m sure the General Secretary will have communicated that to us.”

The Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition is in turmoil following the killing of its Upper East regional chairman Adams Mahama last week after an acid attack on him by two assailants.

A faction of the largest opposition party including some regional executives are calling on the national chairman and general secretary Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong respectively to resign for allegedly having a hand in the gruesome murder.

Meanwhile, three regions – Central, Eastern and Volta – have passed a vote of no confidence in the two.
