Kade, Aug. 25, GNA - Mr Yaw Osafo-Kantanka, Eastern Regional Co-ordinator of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has assured Ghanaians that the party would introduce culture of tolerance, respect for opposing views and civility into Ghanaian politics.

He said DFP would play the game fairly, constructively and contribute towards re-construction of the country to facilitate improvement of the living standards of the people.

Mr Osafo-Kantanka, Former Deputy Eastern Regional Organizer of the National Democratic party (NDC) gave the assurance when addressing supporters of the party from Akwatia and Boadua at Boadua as part of the organisational drive of the party in the Eastern Region. The Eastern Regional Co-ordinator said DFP would shun insults, mudslinging, acrimony, and present its programme on how to build a healthy political and economic climate that would move the nation forward.

He explained that DFP was a new political party and not an offshoot of the NDC or any other political party and would welcome anyone, irrespective of their former political party affiliation. "The DFP is emerging on the political scene to deepen democracy and offer constructive suggestions and worthwhile alternatives on how to build a healthier, happier and progressive nation," He added. Mr Godwin Dewornu, Interim Eastern Regional Organiser of DFP, said the party had come to stay and would surprise the electorates after winning the 2008 elections.

He therefore, asked Ghanaians to opt for the DFP that would offer a new outlook in politics, economic and social programmes to improve the living standards of Ghanaians. Madam Kande Fuseini, a Former activist of the NDC at Boadua, called for massive support for the DFP especially women.
