Tema, Oct. 1, GNA - B.G. Lee scored 42 points to win the J.J.Cho Farewell Golf championship at the Tema Country Golf Course on Saturday. Nana Antwi Boasiako came second with 40 points followed by Kofi Boakye at the third position with 39 points while Kofi Gyau took the fourth position with 38 points.
Florence Etwi Barimah, the 1995 winner of Golfer of the Year award won the Ladies event with 38points when she beat K.S. Lee on count-back with Esi Cobbina placing third with 34 points. The one-day 18-Hole competition attracted about 100 golfers. Mr Kofi Gyau, Captain of the Tema Country Golf Club described champion Mr Cho, who is the outgoing Chief Executive officer of Afko Imex Limited as one of the members whose contribution has made the Club what it is today.
He said Mr Cho not only supported the Club in various ways but has also contributed immensely to the development of other sporting events in the country.
It would be recalled that it was Mr Cho's company that sponsored the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) 1995 Awards Night and also sponsored the national basketball competition in the same year, the captain added.
Mr Cho who has been at the helm of affairs at Afko Imex for the past 18 years is scheduled to leave for Korea.
