Democratic Yoth Forum (Dyf) Endorses Nana Akufo-Addo

Mon, 3 Dec 2012 Source: --

PRESS RELEASE BY DEMOCRATIC YOUTH FORUM (DYF)

The Democratic Youth Forum (DYF) wishes to endorse Nana Akufo-Addo, hence Ghanaians should vote for him as the next President of the Republic of Ghana on 7th December, 2012.

One of these reasons for the endorsement is his promise to introduce free and quality Senior High School when given the nod. DYF is excited with this promise because he is a man of telescopic vision and economic acumen. We sincerely identify ourselves with the free Education system because it is a pro-poor policy and only economic saboteurs can only kick against such a policy. We also expect economic transformation out of this policy.

Another reason for the endorsement is his promise to revamp the National Health Insurance Scheme which was introduce by former President Kuffour. In fact, the scheme has virtually collapsed and only appears to be functioning through propaganda. Besides that, the NDC’s one time NHIS premium is now a history of failed promises.

The DYF also identifies itself with the flag bearer of the largest opposition party, Nana Akufo-Addo for promising to build hostels for the Kayayes, establish the Zongo Community Fund and name the Tamale Sports Stadium after the late Alhaji Aliu Mahama as well as industrialize the Ghanaian economy, through which the Northern sector plays a very important role.

The DYF is particularly excited of his incorruptible nature. This is a gentleman who has never been corrupt as an office holder. Ghana cannot afford to vote for people who are classical example of corruption such as President Mahama. President Mahama’s fight against corruption is suspect.

We strongly believe that President Mahama’s image has been tainted with corruption because he himself or his office has not been able to give satisfactory explanation to the following;

Why the Cuban Government insisted on their website that they gave free scholarship to Ghanaian students and yet President Mahama said the Government paid GH¢160 million for the students.

Why the NDC paid dubious jugement debts to people such as Woyome, CP among others to the tune of over $850 million dollars.

The STX deal in which the President is alleged to have benefited about $10million dollars is still an albatross hanging on his neck.

Why Ghana nearly became a banana republic before the death of President Mills. Because insecurity was the order of the day. He must explain to Ghanaians why in his book,” MY FIRST CUOP D’E TAT” he said he is indecisive and yet expect Ghanaians to vote for him, with such a character trait.

In conclusion, the DYF thinks that the only way the poor can benefit from politicians is through pro-poor policies such as NHIS, Ghana School Feeding Program, Livelihood empowerment against poverty (LEAP), NYEP, Free SHS among others. We therefore think it is high time we voted for Nana Akufo-Addo to become our next President to implement these pro-poor policies, because he has the capacity and the ability to deliver his promises, especially where the oil revenue would increase by next year.

Thank you!
