Dismissed Prosper Bani making himself relevant?

It is said that, no one points his left finger at his hometown by way of directing a stranger.

The above wise saying is what appears to have caught up with the yet-to-be-appointed Ambassador Extraordinaire and Plenipotentiary, Mr. Prosper Douglas Kwaku Bani, the former Chief of Staff to President John Mahama.

Having failed to be accommodative and paying heed to wise counsel; and not to talk about creating a Constituency base, Mr. Prosper Bani is now very busy trying to endear himself to the people of his home, who he is believed to have ignored during his days in office.

After being given the matching orders from the Flagstaff House as Chief of Staff by his employer (President Mahama) weeks ago, the soon-to-be-made Ambassador Extraordinaire and Plenipotentiary seems to be making himself relevant in the affairs of Ghana.

In a story headlined, “Former Chief of Staff cuts sod for road project,” published in yesterday’s edition of the The Ghanaian Lens newspaper, Mr. Prosper Bani was reported as saying in his capacity as former Chief of Staff, the Kpando Sports Stadium and the Margaret Marquart Hospital would see major facelifts with the area's water projects being completed in earnest.

Prosper Bani was reported to have given this assurance last Tuesday when he was joined by the Deputy Volta Regional Minister, Mr. Francis K. Ganyaglo, to perform some groundbreaking exercise for work to begin on three road projects in the Kpando Municipality in the Volta Region.

“Former Chief of Staff, Proper Bani on Tuesday broke the ground for work to start on three road projects to link Kpando Municipality to North Dayi, Biakoye and Hohoe Municipality.

The projects comprise the Ghc34 million phase-two Have/Kpando road project spanning 20 kilometres funded by the Ghana Cocoa Board, bitumen surfacing of the Ghc28.8 million Kpando/Alavanyo Kpame feeder road and others distancing 27.7 km funded by the government in addition to the 18.1 km Kpando town roads,” The Ghanaian Lens reported.

Now, many including people from the Region, are wondering whether Mr. Prosper Bani’s new appointment as an Ambassador Extraordinaire and Plenipotentiary has finally been made with additional duties in-charge of roads in his home Region.

Perhaps, Mr. Prosper Douglas Kwaku Bani is planning to contest as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Kpando Constituency one day; other than that, his locus must be well-defined for Ghanaians to know whether the position of Ambassador Extraordinaire and Plenipotentiary offered him is only limited to the jurisdiction of the Volta peninsula to avoid unnecessary conflicts.
