Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has cautioned voters not to be misled by the sudden surge of government projects appearing across the country in the lead-up to elections.

Speaking to market women at the New Takoradi Market during her three-day campaign tour of the Western Region, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang criticized the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration for launching projects just before elections to win votes, only to abandon them later.

She claimed that this has become a habit for the current government.

She pointed to the stalled redevelopment of the New Takoradi Market as an example, noting that although the project was initiated in 2020, there has been no progress since.

"It didn't take the NDC many years to build the Kejetia Market, the Kotokoraba Market, and many others across the country.

But look at the Takoradi market; it has been four years now, and there is nothing to show," she remarked.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also highlighted the abandonment of the railway project in Takoradi, which was started under the Mahama administration, as further evidence of the government's failure to deliver on its promises. She emphasized the NDC's commitment to development in the Western Region, particularly in Takoradi, and urged voters to change their voting pattern in favour of the NDC in the upcoming December 7 general elections.

She outlined the NDC's plans to create jobs and boost the economy through initiatives like the "24-Hour Economy," the "Big Push," and the "National Apprenticeship Programme." Prof. Opoku-Agyemang called on the electorate to support the NDC for a better future for all Ghanaians.
