The running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has urged electorates not to be deceived by government projects springing up overnight across the country.
She said it has become the habit of the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government to initiate projects during elections in an attempt to deceive and arm-twist electorates for votes, and then abandon them later.
Addressing market women at the New Takoradi Market as part of her three-day campaign tour of the Western Region, she noted that the NPP government is also noted for digging holes with no purpose and the Takoradi township is no exception.
She said after cutting sod in 2020 to construct and redevelop the New Takoradi Market, the project has stalled.
"It didn't take the NDC many years to build the Kejetia market, the Kotokoraba market, and a host of others across the country. But look at the Takoradi market, it is four years now and there is nothing to show", she said.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang further noted that the railway project started by the Mahama administration in Takoradi has also been abandoned.
She said the NDC has been faithful to the people of the Western Region, especially Takoradi, by promoting development across all sectors in the region, adding it is time for Takoradi voters to change their voting pattern by voting for the NDC.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang said the incoming Mahama administration has a lot to offer
Ghanaians in terms of job creation through the 24-Hour Economy, the Big Push, and the National Apprenticeship programme.
She therefore urged the electorates to vote for the NDC in the upcoming December 7 general elections.
