Several Ghanaians have asked Kumawood producers not to make movies based on the killing of Major Maxwell Mahama by a Denkyira Obuasi mob last week.
Kumawood producers are known to make movies based on tragedies that occur in the country, because such movies would be popular when they are released. But this time, some Ghanaians do not want Major Mahama's tragedy to be the basis for a Kumawood movie in order not to promote lynching.
Even actress Nana Ama McBrown has spoken out against producing a movie based on the soldier's predicament. In an interview, she said Kumawood should not glorify Major Mahama's killing by making such a movie. A poster of a movie title "Soldiernii Mahama Amanehunu Part 1 & 2" has been trending on social media, but it appears to have been photoshopped for fun.
