Members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have been advised not to panic over Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s decision to contest the 2016 general elections on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party.
Mr. Kofi Mintah, a founding member of the NDC, who gave the advice said what is needed for the party to retain power is for members to remain united and work hard to ensure a better welfare of Ghanaians.
“We must work hard to ensure that conditions of living of Ghanaians are improved,” Mr. Mintah said, and added that improving the economy is a collective responsibility which must not be left to the President and Ministers alone.
Mr. Mintah, a former Central Regional Chairman of the party, appealed to Ghanaians to be circumspect in what they say about the country in order not to scare investors from coming to invest in the economy to improve the lives of the people.
“Let us all support the government to succeed in making life better for all,” he said.
Mr. Mintah congratulated President Mahama on his election as chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and assured him of the support of Ghanaians.
He appealed to all founding members of the NDC to get actively involved in the party’s affairs, and ensure effective campaign in their various regions to make the party remain in power.
