Dormaa-East MP to register septuagenarians in constituency.

Dormaa-Akwamu (B/A) Sept 3, GNA - Mr. Yaw Ntow-Ababio, Member of Parliament for Dormaa-East has pledged to ensure that adults above 70 years of age in the constituency are registered for the health insurance scheme.

In pursuance of the pledge, Mr. Ntow-Ababio said he would pay the registration fee of 8,000 cedis per each adult above 70 years and has directed the scheme's management in the district to furnish him with the list of such adults in his constituency.

Mr. Ntow-Ababio announced this at separate meetings organized by the various town and area councils in his constituency to welcome the new DCE, Squadron Leader Benjamin Anane-Asamoah.

The MP said the government would not waiver in its commitment to draw basic health care "to the many septuagenarians who, amid hostile working conditions, expended their energies to ensure the country's development."

Mr. Ntow-Ababio announced that he had put in place another package for University first Degree holders with First Class Honours and all girls with first degree from the area to enjoy automatic qualification for full scholarship to pursue second-degree courses.

He announced that the government was spending 4.95 billion cedis on the on-going rehabilitation works on the 4.2-kilometer road linking Dormaa-Akwamu to Asuotiano on the Dormaa-Ahenkro/Sunyani trunk road and urged the people to co-operate with the contractor to enable him to complete the work on schedule.

At the meeting with the Dormaa-Akwamu area council, Mr. Isaac Amponsah, Assembly Member, appealed to the MP and the DCE to assist the community to rehabilitate dilapidated classroom blocks and the only health facility in the town. Sept.03 05
