The running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has staunchly defended Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's integrity, emphasising that the NPP's flagbearer has never been involved in any corruption scandal, either in his private or public life.
Speaking during the launch of the NPP manifesto on Sunday, August 18, 2024, Dr. Opoku Prempeh highlighted Dr. Bawumia's clean track record, stating, "Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is not corrupt. I know in his private life he has never been accused of corruption, and in his public life, he has never been investigated for corruption."
These comments come as part of the NPP's ongoing efforts to position Dr. Bawumia as a candidate of integrity ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh stressed on the party's confidence in Bawumia's ethical standards, both personally and professionally.
