Former parliamentary aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ahafo Ano North constituency, Kwaku Fosu Frimpong, has expressed confidence in Dr. Bawumia's ability to transform Ghana.
He believes that the Vice President has demonstrated credibility and could achieve even more if elected in the upcoming elections.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Ghana’s vice president, is seeking to succeed President Akufo-Addo to continue the governing party's vision.
Kwaku Frimpong touted the party for implementing several initiatives, including free SHS, DRIP, teachers and nursing trainee allowances, among others, adding that there are concerns that discontinuing these initiatives under a different government could significantly impact citizens.
Speaking on a Kumasi-based Lawson FM, Mr. Frimpong expressed optimism that Dr. Bawumia is the most suitable leader for Ghana at present.
He commended the vice president for his modesty, citing an instance where Dr. Bawumia chose to travel with his entourage in a bus instead of using a fleet of V8s to reduce costs.
Kwaku Frimpong observed this decision as a clear indication that Dr. Bawumia would manage the country's resources effectively and efficiently.
He stated, "It has never happened in Ghana that a presidential candidate and his entourage will choose buses for touring instead of relying on a fleet of V8s to reduce cost.
"Unlike Dr. Bawumia, other candidates are seen commuting with multiple vehicles, a display of extravagance that is detrimental to Ghana's progress," he added.
Kwaku Fosu Frimpong praised Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the best Vice-President in the fourth republic due to his significant achievements.
He pointed out that despite doubts from many, including former President Mahama, regarding Bawumia's promises to implement initiatives like Mobile Money interoperability, the Ghana Card, and Zipline projects, Dr. Bawumia successfully delivered on these commitments.
"He is a man of possibilities, always delivering on his promises. Everything that was deemed impossible has been delivered," he stated.
