Dr. Hannah Louisa Bissiw, newly elected Member of Parliament (MP) for Tano South constituency in the Brong-Ahafo Region has assured communities in the constituency of equitable distribution of development projects for the betterment of residents.

She told newsmen at the weekend that she had set up a non-partisan working committee to go round the communities, interact with the people, identify and found lasting solutions to some of their immediate basic needs.

Dr Bissiw who is the Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing narrowly snatched the parliamentary seat from Mr Andrew Agyei-Yeboah, NPP incumbent MP for the area in the just-ended elections. The NPP has occupied the seat since 1992.

She noted that the electorate had become discerning and understood the basic principles of politics which meant development and therefore did not vote on partisan lines in election 2012.

To this end, Dr Bissiw also pledged to ensure that all development projects which would be brought to the area were executed on non-partisan lines for all the communities to benefit.

She emphasised that communities in the area had benefited immensely from the better Ghana agenda with most deprived ones all connected to the national electricity grid.

Dr Bissiw mentioned that a number of mechanized boreholes were drilled in most of the communities that depended on streams in the past four years, while the main water system in the area had also improved.

She commended the NDC constituency executives for their support that made her win the seat.
