Dr. William Atta Owusu, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and a business mogul in the Ashanti Region, has presented a letter to the former president and NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.

In the letter, the prominent party member reaffirms his commitment to the NDC, clarifying that he hasn't resigned from the party as was widely speculated recently.

"This afternoon, I submitted an official letter to the incoming President stating that I, Dr. William Atta Owusu, have not resigned from the NDC party. I still remain a staunch member of the party and I promise to do my best to help bring the party to power," he told this reporter after submitting the letter to the former president at the CSUC in Kumasi on Wednesday.

During the presentation, the beaming smiles on their faces in a photo clearly showed how the business mogul's letter was accepted in good faith. Dr. William Atta Owusu, who expressed joy over the acceptance of his letter by the NDC leader, said he was going to work hard to ensure unity and victory for the NDC in the upcoming election.

Dr. William Atta Owusu became a centre of discussion on various media platforms after his controversial explanation of the NDC's 24-Hour Economy policy on Kumasi-based Kessben media.

The situation worsened after the NDC's regional communications leadership disassociated itself from Dr. William Atta Owusu, stating he was not a member of the communication team or a Parliamentary Candidate.

Later, it was speculated and widely published in the media that the staunch NDC member had resigned after considering the treatment from the NDC regional communications leadership as unfair.

However, he subsequently returned to declare that he had not resigned. His current letter to the former president thus confirms his dedication to the party," he told this reporter.
