Jasikan, May 12, GNA - Electoral Commission (EC) Officials of Jasikan, Hohoe and Kpando have jointly debunked media reports that imputed shortage of registration materials in their areas of jurisdiction.

Rather, they said there were enough such materials to last the duration of the voter revision exercise, which ends on Sunday, and could not countenance such misinformation at this crucial time. They therefore, reassured the voting public that the EC was on top of the situation and was constantly reviewing its position to have another smooth exercise.

Mr. Bismack Nteh, Jasikan Electoral Officer said there was adequate registration material for its 48 centres but added that even though some areas were recording large numbers they were provided with extra forms for the exercise.

During a visit to Ketu-Kaloute Electoral Area centre, Mr Daniel Dzradosi, the Registration Officer told the GNA that only 30 people had registered since the exercise began with no shortages of materials. According to Mr. Sampson Donkor, the Registration Officer at the Odome Electoral Centre at Jasikan, 56 people have registered. Mr James Botwe, Kpando Electoral Officer said the aged above 60 years and the middle-aged brackets have dominated the people that have registered so far, in an exercise to register people who have just turned 18 years. Mr David Acheampong, Hohoe Electoral Officer said all was well so far. 12 May 06
