Educationist elected Chairperson of Gomoa West NDC

A 45-year-old educationist, Ms. Perpetual Amang, has been elected Chairperson for the Gomoa West Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Ms. Amang polled 227 votes out of the valid votes cast to defeat Nana Kwame Arhin, the incumbent Chairman, who had 177 and Mr. Emmanuel Segoe who also obtained 107, at a delegates’ conference of the party at Dawurampong in the Central Region.

The election was conducted and supervised by the Gomoa West Officials of the Electoral Commission (EC), and was observed by the Central Regional Executives of the Party led by Mr. Adu Yeboah, the Chairman.

Mr. George Limah was elected Secretary, polling 307 to beat Wisdom Agbetiafa, who obtained 198. The deputy Secretary position was taken by Mr. Albert Arhin who polled 262 votes.

The Youth Organizer was taken up by Alex Ebo Koomson, who polled 86, with Mr. Henry Difhel, taking up the Deputy Youth Organizer position with 68 votes, and Mr. Kissi Yeboah becoming the Propaganda Secretary with 401 votes to beat his contestant Mr. Kojo Botsio who had 105.

Rev. Juba Jehu-Appiah, Vice Chairman; Mr. Isaac Dadson, Organizer; Ms. Grace Abrokwa, Women Organizer; Mr. Cosmos Amissah, Treasure; Mr. Eric Appiah, Deputy Treasure; and Ms. Janet Acquah, Deputy Women Organizer, were all elected opposed.

Dr. Patrick Aniagyei, Central Regional Organizer of NDC, swore them into office and urged them to execute their duties in accordance with the rules and regulations of the party.

Mr. Adu Yeboah, Central Regional Chairman of the party, advised the executives, members as well as supporters of the party in the constituency to build upon the unity and stability that had existed to help them win the 2016 Parliamentary and Presidential elections.

Other personalities who graced the occasion were the District Chief Executive, Mr. Theophilus Adu-Mensah and Mr. Francis Kojo Arthur, Member of Parliament for the area
