The elected Parliamentary Candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Effutu, Lawyer Victor Yankson has stepped down, Kasapafmonline.com is reliably informed.
Lawyer Yankson in a letter to the General Secretary of the NDC, cited the uncooperative attitude of the constituency’s executives and council of elders ever since he was elected to lead the party.
He reckons such a development would militate against the NDC’s interest going into the crucial 2020 elections.
Lawyer Yankson believes it will take a united front to ensure the NDC wrestles power from the incumbent New Patriotic Party(NPP). He noted that the NDC lacks that unity at the moment.
He nonetheless pledged his unrelenting commitment to the course of the NDC.
It is unclear who takes over the baton to lead the party into the next elections to battle it out with the incumbent MP, Alexander Afenyo-Markin.
