Effutu registers 4,659 applicants in limited voter registration exercise

The Effutu office of the Electoral Commission (EC) registered 4,659 eligible voters at the conclusion of the limited registration exercise on Wednesday, May 29. The registrants included 2,369 males and 2,290 females.

Additionally, the office encountered 31 challenged cases based on the eligibility of residence status within the Effutu Municipality.

Rufai Sabtiwu, the Returning Officer, shared with the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Winneba that the number of registrants surpassed the targeted 3,000.

He noted that, aside from a few misunderstandings and moments of confusion outside the office—which were promptly addressed by the police—the exercise was successful.

Sabtiwu urged political parties and all stakeholders to continue their efforts in educating the public about the importance of a peaceful and successful exercise.
