Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who is seeking the mandate of the 140,000 plus delegates of the New Patriotic Party as its presidential candidate for the 2016 election, has assured the rank and file of the party as well all well-meaning Ghanaians that the NPP will ensure that loopholes in Ghana’s electoral system are plugged before the conduct of the 2016 election.

Reiterating a pledge he has made to the delegates throughout the course of the electioneering period, Nana Akufo-Addo told the 400 delegates of the party from the Effutu Constituency, when he met them on Wednesday, October 15, that “never in the history of Ghana will we see twenty-seven transform itself into ‘twenty-seven zero’. It will never happen again.”

“We are going to make sure that the loopholes in our electoral system are plugged so that the true will of the Ghanaian voter is upheld in every election. When that happens, the NPP will always emerge victorious,” he said.

“With hard work and proper organization, this time we are going to make sure we have a level playing field, so that at the end of the day, a declaration will be made by the new head of the Electoral Commission that the NPP presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has been elected President of Ghana,” Nana Addo said.

Accompanied by Central Regional NPP Chairman, Robert Kutin; Hon. Dr. Nana Ato Arthur, MP for KEEA; Hon. Alex Markin, MP for Effutu; and Hon. Kwamena Bartels, NPP National Council Member, Nana Akufo-Addo appealed to the delegates to vote massively for him on Saturday

Reinforcing the comments expressed by Nana Akufo-Addo in the Effutu Constituency, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Hon. Ken Agyepong, assured NPP delegates that the battle to wrestle power from the NDC will be fought at the polling station level.

According to him, whilst addressing delegates from Awutu Senya Constituency when Nana Akufo-Addo took his campaign to the constituency, the NPP will make no mistakes this time around and allow the kinds of collusion between the NDC and the EC to rob this nation of its rightful government.

It is Akufo-Addo’s time

Also at Awutu Beraku, in the Awutu Senya West constituency, Regional Co-ordinator for Nana Akufo-Addo’s campaign in the Central Region, Hon. Dr. Nana Ato Arthur indicated to the delegates that the clarion call of “No Nana No Vote” by Ghanaians is because “Ghanaians acknowledge that it is Akufo-Addo’s time.”

Applauding the “Super delegates” from the region for 94.4% they gave Nana Akufo-Addo in the August 31 Special Electoral College, Hon. Dr. Nana Ato Arthur asked the 524 delegates to better this feat come Saturday.

Nana Akufo-Addo’s tour of the Central Region saw him visit the Awutu Senya West, Gomoa East, Effutu and Awutu Senya East constituencies on Wednesday. He will wrap up his campaign on Thursday, October 16, as he addresses Greater Accra delegates and party supporters in a mini rally to be held in front of Avenue Chemist, Opposite Abrantie Spot, Abeka Lapaz, Accra, a popular location for NPP events.
