The chairman of electoral commission Dr Kwadwo Afari Gyan has appealed to registration officials throughout the country to exercise restraint and volunteer to assist in the on-going registration exercise.
He said, the commission very which empathizers with them over grievances, explaining that it was acting within its financial budgetary limitations.
Dr. Afari Gyan explained further that, the current allowance fixed for registration officials and their assistants strictly emanated from the budget approved by the government.
He appealed for calm and asked the officials to put the national interest first and go back to work whilst the E/C
Dialogues with the government over how much more can afford to pay them in addition to what they have rejected.
Dr. Afari Gyan advised aggrieved officials not to tamper with registration materials in their possession as that would amount to a criminal offence.
