Mankessim (C/R), Aug. 30, GNA - The Central Regional Women's Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Miss Gladys Nyinaku has called on the electorate to vote for people who can bring development to their areas.
Miss Nyinaku said if the electorate should allow party affiliation to could their sense of judgement to vote for a candidate even if he or she was not marketable, they would be doing more harm to themselves and their communities.
She gave the advice at a meeting of the Mankessim Zongo members of the party at the weekend.
Mr. Stephen Asamoah-Boateng, a Deputy Minister of Information catalogued the achievements of the Government in the district and urged the electorate to renew the mandate given to the Kufuor administration come December.
Mr. Asamoah-Boateng, who is NPP parliamentary candidate for Mfantseman West and said measures were being taken to reclaim the Saltpond ceramics industry, which was divested by the previous government and which was now producing at a very low capacity. Mr. Robert Quainoo-Arthur, the District Chief Executive advised the people to be vigilant so that the Zongo community was not used for harbouring people with criminal intentions.
He advised them to invest in their children's education. The chief of Zongo, Sarikyi Osman Gibrilah appealed to the Government to rehabilitate the Mankessim Market and the main Lorry Park.
