Member of Parliament for Oforikrom Constituency in the Ashanti region, Elizabeth Aygemang has picked a nomination form in a bid to contest the parliamentary primaries for the fourth time.

She said the decision is informed by the recognition of her performance and work by the delegates and hope they would overwhelmingly endorse her candidature. The MP also explained that she would have to seek re-election because the NPP would need experienced law makers in the next parliament.

The Oforikrom lawmaker claimed she has paid school fees for 560 Senor High School students and that she has instituted an award scheme of brand new laptops and cash for over all best students reading law at the college of sciences, college of health sciences, architecture and planning, college of engineering among others.

“In my constituency, several people have received scholarships to study both locally and abroad while school fees of several pupils have been paid through her share of the Common Fund” , she said .

She disclosed that, she has secured funds for building a 3-storey multi purpose clinic with nurses’ quarters at Kotei, her hometown while thousands of her constituents have also benefitted from free registration of NHIS facility.

Elizabeth Agyemang is a member of the parliamentary health committee, vice-chairperson of the Employment and Social Welfare; member of State Enterprise Committee and chairman of the Ashanti NPP caucus.

She is also member of International committees such as the Pan African Parliament Conduct of Presidential elections in Ethiopia (observer); Preparation of framework for Concerted Abolition of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in all African countries; Commonwealth Parliamentary Association member.

“I am, therefore, pleading with the delegates to retain me in Parliament to continue the good works I am doing for my constituents,” she stressed.
