An entrepreneur in the Northern Region has commended the leadership role of President John Dramani Mahama, describing him as one with the ability to unite Ghanaians to move the country’s developmental agenda forward.
Alhaji Yakubu Ayana, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dolan Ayana Company Limited, lauded the President for promising prospective Muslim pilgrims to be airlifted this year from Tamale to Accra before leaving for Mecca, Saudi Arabia via Kotoka International Airport.
He said these on Monday in Tamale when he made separate donations of quantities of items at two children’s homes - the Nyohini and Anfaanix children’s homes.
The items included 20 bags of rice, 20 cartons of mosquito spray, 100 pieces of cups, four standing fans, two gas cookers and cylinders, plastic buckets, two ice chest and bathing basins.
Alhaji Ayana said the items were meant to put smiles on the faces of the children.
In addition, he donated amplifiers, speakers and microphones to eight selected mosques in the Tamale Metropolis, while 10 Arabic students who excelled creditably in this year’s Tafsir Radio competition were also rewarded to encourage the youth to learn more about the Quran and its teachings.
Alhaji Ayana used the occasion to appeal to the residents of Tamale of the need to maintain peace during and after the December presidential and parliamentary elections.
