The Parliamentary candidate for the Ashaiman constituency, Ernest Norgbey was on Monday morning mobbed at the Mandela market at Ashaiman when he paid a working visit to the area.

Mr Norgbey noted that his intention to visit the area was to familiarize himself with conditions at the market.

"My visit to the market was purely to familiarize myself with the conditions within the market and also to know at first hand their problems and frustrations," he said.

Mr Norgbey was met with joy and ecstasy by the market women who believed Mr Norgbey's candidature in Ashaiman would mean a lot in solving the problems that confronts market women in Ashaiman.

A market woman Adzo Gkidza in an interview noted that, she and other market women believed Mr Norgbey has what it takes to address their needs.

"Myself and my friends who trade here are happy seeing the NDC candidate here. We believe he is the right man for the job in Ashaiman because we know what he is doing for women and widows in the constituency so we know he will come to our aid when he is given the nod as MP".

The market women in their numbers mobbed the Parliamentary candidate and for close to an hour, he and his team were still at a place as they could hardly move an inch due to the crowd that had gathered to catch a glimpse at him and as well get a handshake.

Most of the women shouted "Ernest, you are our only hope" "get us a new market;we know you can do it" among others.

Addressing them, Mr Norgbey promised them of working with the Municipal Assembly to as a matter of urgency secure them a permanent place to trade as their current location is not permanent.

"My visit today is to familiarize myself with your problems here and also to see for myself how you run your trading activities here. I promise you I have noted down your concerns, frustrations and suggestions and I can promise you that i will as soon as possible work hand in hand with the Municipal Chief Executive to ensure your needs are addressed," he stressed.
