The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for the Asunafo North Constituency of the Ahafo Region, Evans Bobie Opoku, has reenergized the base of the party with a mega walk in Mim for a third-term bid as Member of Parliament.

The “Mim Mega Walk” to victory aimed at energizing and mobilizing supporters for a vigorous campaign was led by Evans Opoku Bobie, who is the NPP’s parliamentary candidate for the Asunafo North Constituency for the 2024 December polls.

Clad in party colours, the teeming party supporters in their thousands who had defied the early morning rains and converged as early as 5:00 am for the walk moved through principal streets such as Mim High Street, Mim Feteegya, and Mim Airport, bringing the entire Mim community to a standstill before eventually converging at Mim 18-Mu where party leaders took turns to address them.

In his address, Evans Bobie Opoku emphasized that extending the tenure of the NPP-led government for another term for consolidation based on the strides the party has made in the various sectors of the economy that have positively impacted the country is crucial for the long-term growth of Ghana.

“The NPP within eight years has demonstrated through the numerous achievements that the future of Ghana is with us, so I am urging you to give the party another term when you go to the polls in December for us to build on what we have done in the interest of Ghana,” he urged.

He further outlined the progressive developmental plans for the Asunafo North Constituency by citing initiated, completed, and ongoing projects by the NPP government in Mim.

“The NPP government has done a lot for the people of Mim, including the Mim Polyclinic, the Mim water system, the Mim AstroTurf, the Mim Town roads, the Mim market, among others, which are testament to our commitment to the development of this area,” he added.

He urged the supporters to refrain from promoting any “skirt and blouse” voting pattern and vote massively for him and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia because Ghana needs a leader with new ideas, integrity, and a commitment to best practices.

“There can only be one hope for Ghana and that is with an NPP-led government, so I am urging you to vote for me and Dr. Bawumia to continue this transformational agenda because we need a leader with a demonstrated track record to move Ghana forward,” he added.

The “Mim Mega Walk” had in attendance prominent NPP figures including the Ahafo Regional Chairman, Owusu Sekyere, the Asunafo North Municipal Chief Executive, Yaw Osei Boahen, and Nana Yaw Boadu, a presidential staffer.
