Togbe Sri III, Awomefia of Anlo, has asked his people particularly, the youth to accord all political parties a warm reception to undertake their political activities in the area.

Togbi Sri gave the directive during a courtesy call on him by the University of Ghana branch of the Anlo Students Union (ANSU) in his palace in Anloga.

He said the Anlo should not be an arena for unruly and hostile political activities and tension.

According to Togbi Sri, the people must rather focus their energies and resources in making up for 13 years of developmental deficit and not an arena for hostile partisan political games.

Togbe Sri commended the ANSU members for their intellectual zeal and unity and appealed to them to lead a crusade for fair and violent free elections in the area.

He said he had been encouraged by the students’ interest in the affairs of the Anlo state, a sign that they were ready to take over the affairs of the state in the future and welcomed the opinions of students on issues affecting the development of Anlo.

The Awomefia advised the students to be disciplined and help arrest the decline in academic standards in basic schools in the area by organizing holiday classes for the pupils.

He welcomed ANSU’s suggestions for a strong Anlo Education Scholarship Foundation and strategies to attract investments and generate employment in the area.

Agbotadua Kumassah, who recounted a brief history of Anlo, advised the students to be proud of their identity and the Ewe language and assert themselves wherever they found themselves.

Mr Paul Atsu Kporfor, ANSU President, pledged their preparedness to contribute to the growth and development of Anlo and assured the Awomefia that discipline would remain their trademark.
