The Fanteakwa Constituency Executive of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Friday disassociated themselves from series of allegations leveled against Mr Abass Fuseini Sbaabe, District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, by Mr Philip Asomaning, party constituency organizer,
A statement issued at Begoro and signed by Mr Foster Ofosu, constituency secretary, and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Koforidua, said Mr Asomaning on several occasions had leveled series of allegations against the DCE calling for his removal from office for non-performance.
The statement said the constituency executive had no doubt about the competence of the DCE and his ability to deliver the better Ghana agenda that the NDC promised the people of Ghana.
The statement noted that the DCE since assuming office had brought unprecedented infrastructural development to the District.
He also introduced innovative policies and programmes that had gone a long way to alleviate the suffering of the people.
The statement said the NDC had not disintegrated as alleged by Mr Asomaning on a number of radio stations.
It said the allegations by Mr Asomaning as well as that of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), against the DCE were unfounded and a calculated attempt to reduce the strength of the Party in its quest to snatch the Fanteakwa seat from the NPP.
According to the statement, Mr Asomaning had been suspended for six months as the constituency organizer of the NDC pending investigations into his conduct and therefore ceased to function as an executive member until further notice.
