Begoro (E/R), Sept. 8, GNA - The NPP youth wing in the Fanteakwa Constituency in the Eastern Region, has called for the dissolution of the party executives with immediate effect for non-performance, which had brought divisions in the party.

They alleged that the executives were practicing tribal politics, which had brought division and chaos in the area.

In a statement signed by the leaders of the youth wing, patrons and the polling stations chairmen, the youth alleged that the executive had tried to sabotage the President by influencing assembly members to vote against the nominated District Chief Executive (DCE). The statement alleged that the executive had condoned and connived with other people to organize demonstrations against the DCE on tribal lines, saying, through their influence, there had been many attempts to remove the DCE for no apparent reason.

It continued that the latest propaganda by the executive was instigating people to take party members to the law courts without exhausting the avenues set by the party's constitution to resolve issues.

The statement said, "in view of the charges against the executive), we the youth of the party have closed the party's office and seized the party's vehicle".

It appealed to the top hierarchy of the party to take immediate steps to intervene in the matter in order to save the image of the NPP in the area.

In a related development, a citizen of Begoro, one Daniel Obeng Asihene, who filed a writ at the Koforidua High Court restraining the election to confirm the nominated DCE, which was struck out, has filed an appeal against the judgement.

The case has been slated for hearing on September 28.
