Fracas Over NPP Advert

Agyapong and Jake's Team At Each Others Throat
DEEP cracks have developed in the NPP campaign team over the unauthorized campaign advert financed and acted by Kennedy Agyapong, the loquacious NPP MP for Assin North.

The advert on the Tetteh Quarshie interchange and the minimum wage/price of a tin of milk, which has been withdrawn following the prompt reaction of the NDC, which wrote to the National Media Commission (NMC), setting the records straight against the falsehoods being conveyed by the jingles has created so much animosity between the feuding factions.

Snippets of information gathered from the NPP headquarters indicate that the internal party vetting committee had denied knowledge of Kennedy Agyapong's self-conceited advert. In order to avoid a more damaging response from the NDC, the NPP campaign team moved quickly to withdraw the adverts.

However, this simple act of nobility fo accepting responsibility and acknowledging that the NDC's protest enlightened them as to the falsity fo this advert rather sent them to revive their sinister oracle of spin-doctoring. The NPP went round the radio stations claiming to have withdrawn the ads on their own volition because Agyapong did not get authorization to do so.

Kennedy Agyapong, we are told, has vowed to ignore the campaign team and go ahead to produce more self-sponsored NPP adverts. This has already set him on a collision course with the rest. He is said to be after the blood of Kodwo Afari, The NPP Press Secretary who was said to have disowned him and went further to take swipes at him during a Radio Gold interview for trying to provide the NDC with a more lethal weapon to hit at the NPP.

Sources close to the presidency have hinted that the recalcitrance of Agyapong to submit to internal party discipline, is buoyed by the fact that President J. A. Kufuor has given him his blessing. This is not know to Jake Obetsebi Lamptey led campaign committee.

Meanwhile indications point to a more nail-biting advert from the NDC camp in obvious response to the Agyapong advert regardless of the withdrawal. our sources revealed that the Social Democrats as they pride themselves have been working on a kind of precision guided missile sort of an advert which when released will send shivers down the spine.
