Presidential aspirant, George Twum-Barimah-Adu, is prepared to submit and subsequently file his nomination form on Monday, September 9, 2024, at the Electoral Commission Headquarters in Accra.

Mr. Twum-Barimah-Adu is one of the dozens with an interest in contesting in the presidential election on December 7 as an independent candidate. His campaign speaks to those who want to shake off the fetters of the two dominant parties, which have run Ghana in alternate turns since the country's Fourth Republic began: the NPP and the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC.

Mr. Twum-Barimah-Adu said in a statement issued via his official social media page that, "there is so much Ghana wants to offer all her children if only her children will choose to elect leaders who are capable, bold, transformative, and visionary. Not leaders who are partisan and for that matter, parochial."

Twum-Barimah-Adu, being an IT entrepreneur, brings a new perspective to the arena of politics. This is an attempt at how innovation and technology can be applied to change the developmental challenges facing Ghana. He promises to make a united-at-heart Ghana upon election, with common prosperity achieved among all citizens and chalked down into the books, irrespective of political affiliation.

His decision to run as an independent candidate underlines his conviction that it is non-partisan leadership that will steer the country toward a more inclusive and prosperous future.

The submission of the nomination form shortly is another critical moment for his political journey, especially because he is only one step closer to contesting in what is expected to be a hotly contested election.
