Ghana needs an all-inclusive gov’t - Political Parties

The People’s National Convention (PNC) is urging President John Mahama to walk the talk by instituting an all-inclusive government.

The party says Ghana’s challenges over the 57-year period are partly due to the lack of a national development plan.

The General Secretary of the PNC, Bernard Mornah, in an interview with Citi News said, if the President is calling for patriotism on the part of Ghanaians, “then he should go beyond the borders of his political party to realize that in other spheres of our country, there are many, many talents that could have been tapped for the advancement of our nation.”

He was of the opinion that a unified nation cannot be built without an all-inclusive government and admonished the President to ensure his promise of finding talents to help build the nation is implemented.

“He has said it, that wherever talent is, he will look for it and I am saying that it should not be mere words because we know many, many talents that could help push the agenda forward. How come we have not seen that?” he asked.

The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie on his part, laid the challenges of Ghanaians at the doorstep of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.

He told Citi News, it is “sad” and “regretful” for Ghana to be described as a corrupt nation in the latest edition of widely circulated, Africa Watch Magazine.

According to him, people were proud to be called Ghanaians under the leadership of Ex-President John Kufuor as he was able to institute the free maternal health care, the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) among others. But he blamed the NDC for its abysmal management of the nation while burdening Ghanaians with undue hardships.
