The MP for New Juaben South Constituency in the Eastern region, Dr. Mark Assibey-Yeboah, has boasted that Ghana’s Parliament will not be the same without him.
Addressing supporters of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) after going through a successful vetting process, he declared that the House cannot function if he loses.
“If I am not in Parliament, Parliament will collapse,” Assibey-Yeboah told the jubilant crowd.
He added: “Since Ghana’s multiparty democracy in the 4th Republic, Koforidua has not had any MP of my calibre.”
The ruling party will be electing a presidential candidate on April 25, 2020.
Parliamentary candidates will also be elected the same day.
Already, the party is vetting potential parliamentary candidates across the country as part of the election process.
