Accra, Sept 4, GNA- Ghanaians have been urged to vote the New Patriotic Party (NPP), out of office in the 2008 Election, to end economic hardships in the country.
Mr Isaac Mensah, National Democratic Congress (NDC), parliamentary aspirant for Okaikoi South Constituency, who made the called, said the rise in inflation and high interest rate indicated a low purchasing power of the people.
The parliamentary aspirant, was addressing NDC supporters at Kaneshie in Accra on Wednesday. He asked "How can we live in a society where poverty has engulfed the whole nation while only few people are enjoying?" Mr Isaac Mensah said the bad policies of the NPP had resulted in unemployment, corr uption, armed robbery and the lack of basic amenities like water. He said the nation needed a selfless leader like Professor Evans Atta Mills, NDC, flag barer, to transform the lives of the people. Mr Mensah said he would work together with the people towards the development of the area if elected as Member of Parliament (MP). He criticised Nana Akomea, Minister for Manpower, Youth and Employment, and MP for Okaikoi South, for not addressing the problems of the youth in the area.
Madam Nubyl Kakra Vanlare, second Greater Accra Regional Vice chairperson of the NDC, urged the youth to bury their differences and vote for the party in December. Mr Richard Quaye, constituency chairman, appealed to NDC polling station agents to be vigilant at the polling stations on December 7.
