Apostle Dr Emmanuel Osei Donkor, General Secretary of the Christ Apostolic Church International, has urged Ghanaians to show high sense of nationalism after the ruling on the presidential election petition at the Supreme Court.

He said they could do that by accepting the verdict devoid of anarchy so that Ghana would be seen as one of the beacons of the emerging modern democracies not only in Africa but the world at large.

Apostle Donkor gave the advice in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at the premises of the North Kaneshie Central branch of Christ Apostolic Church in Accra on Friday, during a “Fire” conference dubbed: “The Spirit of the End Time Revival.”

He asked the people to remain calm and reflect soberly on God’s divine blessings on the country after the ruling of the Supreme Court.

Apostle Donkor said showing of patriotism is a civil responsibility for Ghanaians and “as we are one people with a common destiny, we should bury our differences in order to build a peaceful nation”.

Delivering a sermon on the topic: “The Anointing of the Spirit,” at the conference, the General Secretary said the anointing is always associated with revelation, revolution, revival, transformation and reformation that manifest in the lives of all God-spirited individuals and without that one cannot make progress in life.

He urged African countries and for that matter Ghana to use the Election Petition to set the tone for a new African electoral culture for other emerging democratic dispensations to emulate.

Apostle Donkor called on the media to play their educative and watchdog roles effectively while being cautious in their reportage and commentaries on the airwaves.
