Ghanaians urged to help make 2012 general elections free and fair

Mankessim (C/R), March 5, GNA – The Central Regional Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Francis Egyaku Donkoh, has appealed to Ghanaians to support the Electoral Commission (EC) to make the 2012 general election free and fair.

He appealed to all Ghanaians who had attained the age of 18 and above to turn out in their numbers to register when the biometric registration exercise begins on March 24 and to ensure that they did not involve themselves in multiple registrations.

Mr Donkoh, who was addressing some supporters of the NPP at Mankessim, cautioned minors to stay clear from the registration centres as they would be made out when they attempted to register.

“Let us help the EC to produce credible voters’ register which would be acceptable to all political parties,” he said.

Mr Donkor appealed to the electorate to ensure that they vote for a candidate who can make life better, make Senior High School education free, ensure a better healthcare and can create jobs for the teeming jobless youth in the country.

He said no one can do all those things except Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Mr Donkoh called on every supporter of the NPP to act as a member of the NPP campaign team and embark on house-to-house campaign to win more votes for the party.

He cautioned NPP supporters against complacency and said no one must regard the 2012 elections as done deal for the NPP and added “We can only win the election through hard work.”
