The Offinsohemaa, Nana Ama Serwaa Nyarko, has pleaded with Ghanaians to give the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) four years to assess the competence of the Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom led party.

“Three days ago as I listened to all the Presidential candidates, I became convinced that Dr. Nduom has the most practical policies that would turn the fortunes of the country around upon his election into power…,”she said.

The Queen-mother made these remarks when a PPP delegation led by Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom paid a courtesy call on her in her palace at Offinso as part of the party’s ‘Don’t waste your votes on people who have deceived you in this fourth republic’ campaign in the Ashanti region.

Nana Ama Serwa Nyarko stated categorically that President John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Nana Akufo Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had failed to convince her with their policies.

“And in view of this, I would pray to God and to the gods to help the PPP come to power to implement its policies on health, education and jobs which I have listened to…,” she added.

After assuring Dr. Nduom and the PPP of her support, Nana Serwa Nyarko also pledged to help spread the PPP’s message of change to “as many people as possible and encourage them to choose the PPP over the other parties.”

Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom prayed for long life for the Queenmother and urged traditional leaders in the country to also offer quality leadership to their community as a means of complementing what a PPP administration would offer the country.

The team also met with and inaugurated polling station executives of the party in the Efigya Sekyere West Constituency at the St Michael’s Catholic Basic School at Akomadan. Dr. Nduom encouraged the executives to work assiduously to ensure the party’s victory in the December polls and also broadcast the party’s message of job creation, incorruptible leadership, and the offering of quality education to voters.

Ecstatic indigenes of the Akomadan Township clad in the party’s red and white colours with the shining red bright sun and chanting ‘Edwumawura Nie, PPP Nie’ welcomed the PPP delegation to the town and assured the PPP of their support in the December polls.

“I can bet you that we are going to shock the NDC and the NPP this time, they have just disappointed us and made a fool of us with empty promises which remain unfulfilled…,” Yaa Manu, told this reporter.

A section of the enthused youth disclosed to this paper that the two leading political parties had over the years failed to deliver on the promise of establishing a Tomato Processing Factory for the community which has the vegetable as its main stay.

“And that is the main reason why we are voting out the incompetent NDC to bring in the PPP because at least Dr. Nduom’s achievement in life makes him much credible than President Mahama and Nana Akufo Addo”, she added.
